My Spiritual Journey…
I was born and raised for 9 years into a Baptist church. After moving in with my aunt, I was then introduced into a catholic church. I also went to an all girls’ catholic school growing up. My young days I followed the spiritual beliefs and practice of my elder family members. As I grew older, I began to search and found my own path.
I do not believe in religion. Man created religion to divide and control us. However, I am very spiritual. I believe there is one God (known by different names based on the different cultures a person look at). My spiritual belief is that, yes there is one God, the father almighty but there are also saints, angels, our ancestors and spirit guides who watches over us and protects us in this journey call life.
I acknowledge, pay homage and respect to these saints, angels and ancestors. With that being said, I am a proud priestess who practice the 101 nations (also known as Haitian vodou) , derived from Africa. I love my culture, I love nature, and I believe in using the natural things nature and the universe provides for the greater good. I attend church but not every Sunday, and when I do I attend catholic churches.
With everything in life, there is a positive and a negative side, I believe in positivity so I DO NOT hurt others. I believe God gives special gifts to a very few chosen ones and I like to use my gift to promote positivity and help others.
One thing that I will say to everyone, PRACTICING A TRADITIONAL AFRICAN SPIRITUAL SYSTEM DOES NOT MEAN YOU WILL NOT FACE DARK TIMES, BUT IT DOES TEACH YOU HOW TO USE THE DARKNESS AS A TOOL TO GROW.
peace and love,

Bestie!!! Great way to introduce world how our spirituality works. I would also add that this spiritual life have given us a path to be discipline and learn to trust and LOVE ourselves. I read somewhere and had this quote:
“Honoring the ancestors and lwa is honoring oneself and valuing ones worth. When was the last time you’ve sat down and truly think about it? Success can only be assure once you’ve begins to honor and respect yourself thoroughly. My elders once told me that, “Si w renmen gren lan, fò w renmen po a.” Don’t say you love yourself and wish the best for yourself when you’ve no idea of the foundation of your being. the quote says, “If you must love the seed, you must also love its skin.” Thus, here we say, honor and respect the root and do your best to make the flowers blooms brightly each days that passes you by. It all begins with your family history and knowing the lwa which walks with you. The lwa is within you, and all throughout you.”
With that being said, I pray that this blog continues to inspire others and teach the ignorance the beauty of the Saints, Ancestors, and Spirits/ Lwas. May you light shine girl!!! SLAYY on them!!! Love you!
